THE DOORZ

"Insect-eating plants, pink and purple, against a black background. What looks like a Far eastern floral pattern from a distance is actually the backdrop for a one-room-fairyland by UK based illustrator and artist Will Sweeney and his American colleague Matt Furie. Their collaboration, entitled "The Doorz", is a paradoxical show, one that thrives on contradictions. Furie's and Sweeney's very distinct handwritings, the blend of various creative techniques, the amalgamation of styles. Floral wallpapers, maya geometry, eighties skateboard graphics and Mc-Escher-like irrationality. Utter confusion?
A wonderland of confusion!

We're used to way-out interior and imagery at "Jaguar Shoes", we've have seen Rachael Haine's gaffer tape installations and CathLove's "Greasy Fried Dreams" earlier this year. The bar and exhibition venue on Kingsland Road is a cranky place and that's why we love it. During this year's London Design Festival, though, everything seems exceptionally strange. (...)"
